Seeking an entry into the enzyme replacement therapy space, Eli Lilly has acquired Alnara Pharmaceuticals and its non-porcine pancreatic enzyme replacement therapy liprotamase in a deal whose financial terms were not disclosed. Liprotamase, currently waiting approval at FDA, would be the first non-porcine PERT for exocrine pancreatic insufficiency, a condition often associated with cystic fibrosis.
