Today's story goes like this: AstraZeneca has snared Martin Mackay to head up its global R&D organization. Mackay, of course, previously was head of Pfizer PharmaTherapeutics, responsible for Pfizer’s small molecules program and on the company’s executive leadership team.
He led half of Pfizer's R&D engine; the other half was led by Mikael Dolsten, who until today was head of Pfizer BioTherapeutics and Vaccines R&D. Before that Dolsten was head of Wyeth R&D - now he's head of Pfizer's worldwide R&D.
